Leadership Principles 2

A DIRECTOR KNOWS HOW TO COPE WITH BAD NEWS

Nehemiah does not fall to pieces when terrible news is reported to him in great detail.

Neh 1:3 The walls are broken down and its gates are burned by fire...

we cannot expect good news all the time. but directors need the willingness to hear bad news and the stamina to weather storms. That's part of life. leaders have stability and can cope with shock. Some people in responsible positions have told me clearly: " Do not give me bad news. I cannot handle it and it makes me depressed". This defensive attitude does not impress me.

When king David and his 600 soldiers came to Ziklag, the enemy had robbed them of everything. with women, children and livestock they had taken off. they had set fire to the city and escaped. Now god's band arrives, sees the ruins and the 600 men want to kill David, because they think he is responsible for this disaster and their personal loss.
But he does not panic. The bible says simply: But David encouraged himself in the lord his God. Then he checks with Jehovah ( 1 sam 30) what he should do now and goes after the enemy.

Leaders do not get rattled by Bad news, but encourage themselves in God when disaster breaks upon them. Then they ask the Almighty what they should do.

Question:

Do you fall into depression when things do not go well and in what way do you seek God?

Leadership Principles

Top people hunger for information and are interested in the affairs of others

Nehemiah asks how his compatriots in a far away land are doing.

Neh 1:2 I asked them how things were in Jerusalem.....

He is looking to the horizon and does not only care for his own affairs. leaders are not parochial in their thinking. directors have wide interests and know how to ask questions.

Phrase your questions in such a way, that you get more than  YES or NO as an answer. Do not ask : "Did you have a good holiday?" But, " What did you particularly like doing, during your holiday? how did it minister to you personally?" this type of question assures you of more than Just a Yes or a NO.

Leaders do not have tunnel vision but stand on their toes looking over the whole fiels that is ready to be worked.

After all Jesus said: Look unto the harvest field, for it is white and ripe for harvesting. You dont use a microscope, but binoculars to see the scope of what needs doing.

Question:-
Do you ask enough open - ended questions? how can you get better replies then just a YES or NO.

Did you eat your manna Today?

The Isralites ate manna forty years, until they came to a land that was settled – Ex 16:35
In the wilderness, the children of Israel experinced miracles every day for 40 years.
Every single day of those 40 years or 14600 days, God rained manna and every man and women ate to their hearts content. In that period of time, rain might have ceased but manna never ceased to be there for the next meal.
In today’s context, the manna is God’s word. God’s word has the ability to give life to our spiritually dead bodies and to any physically dead business. So, read God’s word and eat his manna; that is all you need for better business and better quality of life.
The quality of your life is decided by the quantity of manna you eat.
Eat more and you have more strength, eat less nd you have less strength .
A question, “ Did you eat manna today?
